James Towner

James D. Towner, 50, Leawood, KS passed away March 22, 2022.    James was born on March 22, 1972, in Liberal Kansas to Jay and Lynda Hinnergardt.   He graduated from Liberal High School in 1991 and went on to graduate from Southwest Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  Once he started working for Sprint, he went to Devry University and graduated to help further his career.   He worked the night shift at Sprint and T-Moblie for the past 15 years, working from home the last 2 years.

James married Carolyn Vining in 1995 and they had two sons, Caleb and Brian.   In 2005 he married Lara Sodon.

James enjoyed playing guitar, riding motorcycles and watching movies.  But his favorite pastime was playing video games with Caleb and Brian when they were growing up.

James is survived by his two sons:  Caleb (Peyton) Towner and Brian (Abby) Towner; his parents, Lynda and Jay Hinnergardt; brother, Joshua and his fiancee, Lori; sisters:  Ashley (Nate) Geist and Caity Hinnergardt; and one nephew, Kevin Logan Towner.

A private family service will be held.   Memorial contributions in memory of James are suggested to Wayside Waifs, 3801 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO 64137.
