Janice Elizabeth Peterson

 Janice "Jan" Elizabeth Peterson, 88, Parker, Colorado, died after a brief hospital stay on November 26, 2024. Jan is survived by her daughter Karen Foreman (Lance), sons Paul Peterson (Toni) and David Peterson (Vonnie); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Jan also considered Ellen Mikkelsen (Flemming), a foreign exchange student, a part of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Peterson, her parents, Robert and Grace Porter, and her brothers, Robert Porter and David Porter.

Jan was born in Jewell, KS and spent her childhood in Kansas City, MO. After graduating from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO, she attended North Central College. Gene and Jan were married August 23, 1956. Together, they owned a pharmacy, Peterson's Medicine Chest in Arkansas City, Kansas. She also worked as a medical office assistant in Wichita, Kansas. In addition to her strong devotion to her family, Jan volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Arkansas City, Ks, First United Methodist Church in Wichita, Music Theatre Wichita, and P.E.O. Women's Organization. Services will be held January 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
