Jean Ramirez

Jean Ramirez, age 85, passed away on November 10, 2023.  She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Gus Ramirez.  Together they enjoyed travel, dancing, cheering on the Jayhawks and the Chiefs. They treasured time spent with our family.  They especially enjoyed trips to Hawaii and attending the many athletic events, music concerts, dramatic performances and dance recitals of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Deeply involved in the community and many civic organizations, she was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, cooking and crafts. Jean was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR),  joining the Sagamore Chapter NSDAR in 1980.  She was a member of nine lineage societies and had two proven Revolutionary War patriots. She served the Society on chapter, state and national levels, notably as the South Central Division Committee Chairman and State Chaplain.  

Jean was dearly loved by her family and friends. Her generous servant heart will be missed by all. 

Survivors include, children Linda (Charley) Magruder, Cathy (Doug) Hays, Steve (Melissa) Ramirez; grandchildren Rob (Robin) Hays, Sarah (Alfonso) Teves, Amanda (Bob Morrison) Hays, Daniel (Meghan) Magruder, Michael (Jessica) Magruder, Thalia Ramirez, Alex Ramirez, Natalie Martens-Harper; 7 great grandchildren Olive, Gabriel, Adalynn, Grayson, Tristan, Laelynn, Everlynn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
