John Hoelzel

John H. Hoelzel, born January 16th, 1931in Kansas City, MO to the union of Herman H. Hoelzel and Sadie (Birk) Hoelzel, and passed away December 8th. 2021.

John graduated from Southwest High School in 1948. He received his BS from the University of Missouri in 1953. He served as a 1st LT in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 -1956. He later joined Kessinger/Hunter & Company where he was a senior partner as Vice-President.

John was the President of General Realty Group and established partnerships to own and manager shopping centers, apartment complexes, and residential subdivisions(primarily in Florida). He served as a vice chairman for funding at Sunset Hill School.

John loved golf and continued to play late into his 80’s.  He was also a member of Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas. John and DeAun enjoyed world traveling and were members of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his loving wife DeAun; his step daughter Stephanie Barnes and his grandson Aiden Levy, along with many loving family members and friends.
