Joseph Plubell

Joseph Kevin Plubell passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21st, 2022, with his wife Maria and daughter Jessica by his side. Joe fought a courageous 1-1/2 year long battle with Glioblastoma Stage 4 Cancer.

Joe was born in Clearfield, PA on March 31, 1957, and grew up in nearby Frenchville, PA.

For many years, Joe was an altar boy at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Frenchville. As a youngster in Pennsylvania, Joe enjoyed snowmobiling and riding dirt bikes around the fields and hills of central Pennsylvania.

Joe attended Clearfield High School where he played football and baseball. Joe then attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering and an MBA. Joe treasured his membership in the Delta Chi fraternity.

Joe traveled the world during his career and was an avid golfer and hunter. Joe’s happiest moments were spent outdoors listening to music, relaxing with a cold beverage, and sharing his life with family, friends, and neighbors. Through all his travels and the towns, he called home, Joe was once and always a Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

Joe’s professional career was primarily spent with Westinghouse and Black & Veatch. As a Civil Engineer and later Senior Vice President and Director Global Sales, Joe oversaw energy production projects ranging coal to atomic energy. Joe’s worldwide responsibilities would include most of the US, Asia, Dubai, and many other countries.  Joe held “top secret” security clearance with the DOE. He retired from Black & Veatch in December of 2019.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Victor Plubell. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Papasavas), daughter, Jessica; his mother, Arlene Plubell; his brother Ron (Mary) Plubell; his sister, Donna (Mark) Swatsworth; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

We ask you to join us at Joe's favorite neighborhood bar for a Celebration of Life. We will raise a glass and share a fun memory of Joe. Beverages and lunch will be served. Details listed below.
