October 1, 1923 — March 24, 2007

MAY Kathryn Ellsworth (Kay) May, age 83, Overland Park, KS, passed away March 24th 2007 from respiratory failure with her children by her side.

Kay was born October 1st, 1923 in Chicago, IL. After high school she went to work at Marshall Fields where she met and married Thomas Edward May in 1943. After the war she became an active member of the VFW Auxiliary #2751 in Chicago. She moved to Prairie Village in 1958, at which time the family joined Trinity Lutheran Church, where Kay was (and up until her death) an active member of the Naomi Circle. While her children were growing up, Kay was a very involved mother, volunteering her time to be a Sunday school teacher, cub scout leader, girl scout leader and PTA member. She went to work in 1969 for Rust Sash & Door in Lenexa, as a sales catalog designer. In 1976 she became active in the Saturday Night Singles Group. Shortly thereafter she met her future husband Ron Larrison, who also worked at Rust Sash & Door. They were both avid KC Chiefs fans, holding season tickets for 30 years until Ron's death in 1999. In 1982 she went to work for Pacific Mutual Door, again as a sales catalog designer. She retired in 1990 and began traveling abroad with her husband Ron. In 2006 she fulfilled a lifelong dream to complete her lineage and become a member of the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marie Graham of California, and husband Ronald L. Larrison of Kansas City. She is survived by son Timothy May of Ventura, CA., daughter Suzanne May-Boand of Sun Valley, ID., grandson Kristoffer May of Hollywood, CA., granddaughter Ashley Boand of Sun Valley, ID. and nephew Stephen Graham of Portland, OR.
