Katie had many passions in life including art, music, and cooking. Her favorite artistic period was the impressionist, such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, and Paul Gauguin. If you saw her driving she was either listening to Sports Talk radio or jamming out to one of her favorite bands. She loved to dance to just about any kind of music. One of her favorite concert memories was attending a Sigur Rós concert at Starlight solo.
When it came to cooking, Katie loved to experiment with flavors and made sure whatever she made had extra sauce,be it BBQ, ranch, or marinara. She also had a long list of traditional family recipes that she loved to make, specifically the lump crab and cream cheese dip for birthday and holiday gatherings.
Of her many hobbies, watching trivia game shows was her favorite. She would know most of the answers quicker than the contestants. She also enjoyed a good "Sex and the City" binge. She was very strict about watching a show from the beginning of the season and hated skipping around.
Katie had a warm heart towards all animals but gave extra affection towards her beloved mini Schnauzers Fritz, Buddy 1, Buddy II, and Maggie. Always making sure they received extra cuddles and treats.
When she was able to get away, she enjoyed a good vacation or day trip to Lawrence, KS. Finding little local restaurants and trying their specialties. Often sitting at the bar and talking to the staff about the meal.
She was very open to trying new experiences. You would often catch her staring at the moon and stars in the night sky. She would delight in watching the Fourth of July fireworks from her balcony or after a home game at Kauffman stadium.
