Larry Michael Bartlett

Larry Michael Bartlett, 73, of Fontana, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on August 14, 1950, in Arkansas City, Kansas, the son of Wayne Locksley Bartlett, and May Rita Kinsella Bartlett. Mike graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1968 and enlisted in the Navy shortly after graduation. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. His character of service was honorable, and he was presented with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal. Mike met Linda Kathleen Jones at Johnson County Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts degree in 1976. Mike and Linda were married on November 30, 1974, in Shawnee, Kansas. They were married 44 years. They enjoyed playing tennis and quality time together, taking rides in the park. He worked for McLane Foodservice as a Warehouse Technician, for most the entirety of his professional career. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Bartlett, and his parents Wayne and Rita Bartlett. He is survived by his brother Tom Bartlett(Joyce), Olathe, Kansas; sister Linda Lentell(Tom), Chestertown, Maryland; brother Jim Bartlett(Susan), Overland Park, Kansas; sister Diana Lynn(John), Shawnee, Kansas; daughter Michelle Yantzi(Brad), Lenexa, Kansas; and grandchildren Bree Yantzi, Cole Yantzi and Elise Hurt. The family will have a graveside service Saturday, January 20th at 1pm at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 112th and Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at The Foundry Church, 8835 Lackman Rd, Lenexa, Kansas from 2pm-5pm. Mike was a kindhearted man of God and will be truly missed.
