Lila (Leela) Alice Haris

Lila (Nicknames: Leela, Layla, Lilly, Lill) Alice Haris, 51, passed away on June 19, 2025 at 5:30 pm, in Kansas City, MO, of metastatic breast cancer. Leela was born in Houston, Texas, on May 29, 1974 at 2:08 am to parents Charlotte Worley Haris and Ali Haris. She spent the first 6 years of her life in Baghdad, Iraq, before moving to Richmond, Texas. She is survived by her father, Ali Haris (wife Nabilla Yousef) of Prairie Village, KS, sister Holly Blackhurst and nieces McKayla and Diana Blackhurst of Blue Springs, MO. Brother Charles Haris (Wife Cori Poher Haris) and nephew Clark Haris of Overland Park, KS, and brother Kaise Haris of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by numerous Iraqi relatives. She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Charlotte Worley Haris, maternal grandparents Frances Tittle and Charles D. Worley, and paternal grandparents Nasrya Jameel Alfahad and Abdul Karim Haris. Lila worked many years for Haris Engineering, but was most proud of her personal healing journey of consciousness with Mada Dalian, as well as her training and facilitation work with the Dalian Method, which changed her life in miraculous ways. She has many beloved fellow travelers and mentors of the Dalian Method all over the world. 

Leela's message to her family, friends, and loved ones: "Don't worry, I haven't gone anywhere. I'm always right here.
