Lillian’s life was abundant with love and care for family and friends. In her early years she served as a devoted daughter and sister. These gifts continued in her life as a caring, comforting, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her early years started in New Orleans, Louisiana where she was married and started a family with her beloved husband of 60 years, Alfred, and having 3 children together. Years passed and Alfred’s job transferred them to Salt Lake City, Utah and later his job took them to the Kansas City area. Most of their time spent together was in Kansas. After the first 11 years of being a widow, Lillian moved to reside closer to 2 of her children in Sugar Land, Texas. Over the years Lillian enjoyed bowling (and was quite good at it!) and participated in women’s leagues and a mixed league with Alfred. She enjoyed playing a hand of poker with friends and loved playing UNO with family. Traveling was a hi-lite of Lillian’s time finding great joy on cruise excursions and group bus tours with her husband. A favorite outing was to a casino and playing slot machines or taking in a play at a theatre. Lillian’s radiant smile added sparkling gleam in her eyes that was captured by many.
Lillian leaves a daughter Susan (John) Garcia, and a son Steven Waechter, grandchildren Angela, Renee (Isaiah), Scott (Shelby) Nicholas, Katherine, and Steven Jr., great grandchildren Parker and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred M. Waechter, parents John Navarro and Maria Perniciero, son Al N. Waechter and brother John Jr. and Raymond.
Thank you to family and friends for their support and prayers and especially Mayra. Also, in appreciation of care the staff gave at both the Villages at Sugar Land and Sahara Hospice Team.
Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer Association and/or Diabetes Association in her memory.
