Lindsay (Dibbern) Wilson, Overland Park, died September 5, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 28, 1977, to Darrell and Gaylene Dibbern in Topeka, Kansas.
Lindsay graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, and went on to receive her Masters in Accountancy from Kansas State University in Manhattan. She was employed by Deloitte and Touche, both in Kansas City and Newport Beach, California. She also worked for Lennar Corp., Irvine/Newport Beach, as a CPA. After leaving Lennar Corp., she worked for Ryness Company in Irvine, California, selling luxury condos. Lindsay and John returned to Kansas City to start their family and she began working at her father-in-law's company, Kanorado Corporation.
Lindsay married John E. Wilson on July 2, 2004 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on the beach, at their dear friend's estate. Lindsay and John celebrated their 10th anniversary in Cabo this July with their family at this place that was so special to them. They have two children, Lauren Elizabeth and Jack Logan. Lindsay's children were the joy of her life and the two things of which she was most proud.
Lindsay is survived by her husband, John and her two children of Overland Park. She is also survived by her parents, Darrell and Gaylene Dibbern, Topeka; her sister, Ashley Soper, Topeka; her niece, Ryan Soper, Topeka; her grandmother, Betty Geiser, Topeka; her grandfather, Floyd Dibbern, Topeka; her in-laws, Dale and Mary Clare Wilson, Topeka; three brother-in-laws, Mark Wilson (Kimmy), Overland Park; David Wilson, Los Angeles; Matt Soper, Topeka; and her life-long best friend, Anjanette (Powell) Tolman, Overland Park. `
A celebration of Lindsay's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11 at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 12501 SW 137th St., Overland Park, Kansas. Following the celebration, family and friends are invited to meet at Coaches Bar and Grill, 9089 W. 135th St., Overland Park from 4-7 p.m. Lindsay will be cremated, and at a later date, Lindsay's cremated remains will be scattered in Cabo San Lucas on the beach where she and John were married and some will be placed in a personalized niche at Johnson County Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.
