Lola Ferne Ashwill, 105, of Johnson County, KS, passed away September 17, 2015. She was born in Stanberry, Missouri, June 15, 1910, the daughter of Dana and Ida May Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Leiva Woods Bell. She is survived by a son, L.E. (Bud) Ashwill Jr., three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a charter member of Nall Ave. Baptist Church, Prairie Village KS; the Shawnee chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Henry Champion chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonies, KC chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood; Shawnee Mission Indian Historical Society and the Presidents and Past Presidents General Assembly. She served as church secretary for 25 years, beginning at University Heights Christian Church, Kansas City, MO and retiring from Nall Ave. Baptist in 1976.
