Mary Beth Stremming (Woods), 60, of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House following a courageous battle with Stage 4 stomach cancer that had spread to her liver. Mary Beth was born on September 19, 1965, in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Ohio before moving back to Kansas, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Stremming. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work, eventually owning and operating Western Enterprise, Inc. A strong-willed and deeply faithful woman, Mary Beth found strength in her Christian walk and devoted herself to following Jesus. She cherished long, meaningful conversations and lived with a servant’s heart—always placing the needs of her family and friends above her own. She was an avid animal lover who would have rescued every dog and cat she met if she could. Her resilience was remarkable; after being diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, she successfully battled Stage 3 endometrial cancer and Stage 1 breast cancer before facing her final illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee Woods and Mary Maude Woods. Mary Beth is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Stremming; her son, Kyl Stremming (Madison); step-sons, Donald Stremming (Stephanie) and Shane Stremming (Crystal); grandchildren, Sumner Stremming and Kylie Stremming; and her brothers, Jim Woods (Lynn), Robbie Woods (Betty), and Jerry Woods (Jo). She will be deeply missed by many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Johnson County Chapel Memorial Gardens. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson County Chapel Memorial Gardens, with burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. In accordance with Mary Beth’s wishes, memorial donations may be made to the Full Life Foundation For Lynch Syndrome in her honor.
