Milton William Fehr Jr, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Milton William Fehr Sr. And Eleanor Royston Fehr.
Milton built a long and respected career in the grocery industry working with companies such as A&P, AWG, SoFresh and others. His specialty was produce, and he became known for his deep knowledge, reliability, and leadership. His work often took him across the country performing produce field inspections – sometimes traveling more than 6,000 miles on a single trip to states including California, Washington and Florida. His dedication to his craft left a lasting impression on colleagues and industry partners alike.
Milton lived a life rich in interests and service. He loved fishing, bird hunting, watching nature programs, and bird watching. He also serviced his community in many capacities, including work in Civil Defense, leadership roles within his church, and service with the Prairie Village Police Department. His commitment to helping others was a defining part of his character.
Milton is survived by his loving wife, Kay Fehr; his children William Fehr and James Fehr; his grandchildren William Fehr Jr., Shawn Fehr, Krista Fehr, Matthew Kass, and Anthony Fehr; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Henshaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Eleanor Fehr, and his son, John Fehr.
Milton will be remembered as a loving and compassionate husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and community servant. His leadership style shaped the lives of many who worked with him and served along side him. His laugh, smile, caring heart, and well-timed jokes will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
