Patricia Ann Chrzanowski

Patricia Ann Chrzanowski, 84, Overland Park passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 23, 2023.

Patricia was born July 3, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas to Nicholas and Mary (Belaus) Karhut.  Pat was raised in Kansas City, Kansas on Polish Hill along with her younger sister, Elaine.  Pat graduated in 1957 from Bishop Ward High School.   After graduating, she went to work for Old American Insurance Company in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Pat met her husband, Joseph Chrzanowski, at a church polka dance.  They were married on May 25, 1963.  They had three children: Steve, Debbie and Paula. Pat volunteered at her children’s school supporting their extra-curricular activities.   She enjoyed family travel to beaches, mountains, and amusement parks.  Family was the most important thing to her.  

Pat later worked for Sears in the Customer Service Department at Metcalf South for five years until retirement.  She and Joe spent their golden years traveling and doing what they loved.  She enjoyed sewing, country music, dancing, playing rummy with the kids, going to movies, taking walks, going out to eat and family gatherings, especially during the holidays. 

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Mary Karhut; her husband, Joseph, in 1999; and her brother-in-law, Donald Webb, in 2023.  She is survived by her three children and their spouses:  Steven Chrzanowski (Annette), Deborah Schmidt (Michael) and Paula Heideman (William); her sister, Elaine Webb; a cousin, Daniel Mufich; grandchildren Jonathan Chrzanowski (Anna) and Joseph “Joey” Heideman; and one great-granddaughter, Lucy Chrzanowski. 

Visitation will be on Monday, October 30th from 9:00AM-9:45AM at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, KS 66213, followed by the Rosary at 9:45AM.   Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM.   A graveside service will follow Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa, KS 66215.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Patricia may be made to: All Saints Parish/St. Joseph Church, 811 Vermont Ave, Kansas City, KS  66101 or to the Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101.

Patricia was very kind and always willing to help whoever needed it.  She was tremendously loved by her family and she will be greatly missed.
