Patricia R. Dinklage

Patricia Rose Dinklage January 11, 1930 - April 11, 2023, Overland Park, KS.  Patricia (Pat) Rose Dinklage, 93 passed away April 11, 2023. She was born in Kansas City, MO, the only child to Emma and Lionel Trudel. Pat graduated from Shawnee Mission High School and attended St. Mary's College.

She married Melvin Dinklage in 1956, together they owned The Kansas City Typewriter and Adding Machine Company at 1521 Grand Ave., Kansas City MO, where she was the president and CEO. They raised 3 children and was very active in their lives and activities. Pat was director of the YMCA cheerleading program for many years.

After retirement Pat couldn't sit still and moved on to new adventures first in the travel business at Brennco Travel, followed by the Kansas City Star, where she retired again and finished her working career at the Grass Pad. She loved her work and all the people she met along the way; they enriched her life. She started as the "boss" and carried that attitude to all her post-retirement adventures and through life! Pat loved to play bridge, spend time with her family at her pool and loved to visit with people.

Most of all Pat loved her family, they were her pride and joy, each one just as special as the next. She called every family member and special friends on their birthday and sang Happy Birthday to them; that will be missed by all.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Melvin (Mel), son Mel and grand-daughter Jenna. She leaves a loving family that will miss her deeply, son Thom Petty (wife Pat); Cheri Cox (husband Chuck); grandchildren Taylor Cox, Tiffany Arensdorf, Kelsey Petty, Jordan Cox and 6 great-grandchildren and many loved ones.
