Pat was born on February 15, 1941, the oldest of three children, in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank and Lora Slezak. She graduated high school at St. Theresa’s Academy and attended St. Theresa’s College in Kansas City, Missouri. After college, she worked for the Architectural firm of Voskamp and Slezak. She met her husband, Joseph (Joe) Michael Lock and they married June 23, 1962.  They had two daughters Kimberly (Kim) and Sally.

Pat spent her time volunteering with KU Med Special Education, Kansas City Young Matrons, and Ladies of Charity. She also had a retail career at The Jones Store and Macy’s for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to his work conferences, going on the annual Christmas shopping trip with her daughters to Chicago, shopping sprees with friends to Junior League Holiday mart and many other places, and spending time with her family and grand kids.

Pat, aka “Mimi” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.  She had a very strong and caring heart which she demonstrated up until her passing. She was very thoughtful and never missed a family member or friends’ birthday, Christmas, or any occasion. She loved picking up her grandkids early from daycare when they were younger and continued to spoil them as they got older.

The family would like to extend gratitude and thanks to nursing staff at Overland Park Regional Hospital and HCA Midwest Hospice for taking such great care of her in her final days. Pat will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
