Patricia Ruth Owsley

Pat (Anderson) Owsley, age 93, of Overland Park, KS, passed away at her daughter's home on June 29th, 2026. Pat was born at home in Merriam, Kansas on March 18th, 1933. She was the 6th of 7 children of Leonard and Annie Bell Anderson. She graduated from her beloved Rosedale High School in 1950. She married Bob Owsley, her high school sweetheart, in June of 1955. Pat worked as a secretary for a trucking company until she became a stay-at-home-mom, in 1957. She was a wonderful mom to 3 children: Gary, Nancy and Steve.

Pat was a very active member of Overland Park Christian Church for over 65 years, serving as the Wedding Reception Coordinator for 35 years. She loved people and she loved serving people. This was usually through delicious food and warm hospitality in her home, her church or the Argentine Soup Kitchen. She loved serving at Cross-Lines, an inner city KCK ministry to the poor, for many years. Pat delighted in gathering Rosedale High School alums and organizing reunions for them for many decades. She was very creative- decorating beautiful cakes, painting folk art, sewing for her home or grandkids, cooking amazing meals for friends and family. Most of all, she loved being a Grandma to her grandchildren and a Great-Grandma to her 11 great-grandchildren! Pat was a beautiful person, inside and out, and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her brother Ralph Anderson, sister Marilyn Gilbert; son Gary Owsley (Pam); daughter Nancy Willoughby (Bret); son Steve Owsley; grandchildren Jessica Canaday (Josh), David Owsley (Brittany), Melika McKinnis (Seth), Laina Smith (Elisha), Tricia Patton (Michael) Mary Beth Bush; great grandchildren Jordan, Jillian, Jaelyn, Jocelyn, Janeen, Jensyn Canaday; Caleb and Charlotte Owsley; Brennan McKinnis; Felicity and Azalea Patton.
