Patricia Smith

Patricia Ann Smith, 71, Overland Park, Kan., passed away August 19, 2011. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. A memorial service will at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall, Kansas City, Mo. A private family interment will take place in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association , 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208 or Animal Haven, 9800 W. 67th St., Merriam, KS 66203. Pat was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Strong City, Kan., to Ernest and Zelma Humbargar. She was a wonderful wife for 51 years and a compassionate mother to her children. Pat was a passionate lover of God and of all people that came to her seeking her wisdom and counsel. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kelsey Smith. Survivors include her husband, David Smith; children, Gregory (Melissa) Smith and Shannon Smith; grandchildren, Steaphanie, Lindsey, Codie, and Zach; her great granddaughter, Sarah and close friend, Barry Troller.
