Patrick James McFarland of Leawood, Kansas passed away suddenly on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the age of 42.
Patrick was born on September 8, 1979, to Cathy and Paul McFarland in Des Moines, Iowa. Patrick was a star athlete and well-loved graduate of the Wayne Community high school class of 1998. An ardent Iowa Hawkeye, Patrick was gifted at finding an “Iowa connection” with everyone he met. Patrick will be remembered as approachable and curious, knowledgeable about the community and consummately interested in other people. Although Patrick took great joy in connecting with other people, he also deeply loved the peace of being alone outdoors.
