Paul D. Apperson

Paul David Apperson, lovingly known as Paul “The Wall” from Arkansas, was born on May 18, 1966, in Paola, Kansas, to Bill and Jean Apperson.

Paul was a fun-loving spirit who found joy in roller coasters, making friends wherever he went, music, movies, and—above all—Dr Pepper. He had a deep love for classic shows and artists, including Top Gun, Dallas, The Dukes of Hazzard, Garth Brooks, Elton John, Michael Jackson, The Beach Boys, and Willie Nelson. Family and friends can’t help but smile when they remember his signature order: spaghetti with three meatballs—no more, no less.

Paul passed away on December 2, 2025, in Eudora, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jamie Apperson, and his niece, Hannah Apperson.

He is survived by his father, Bill Apperson; mother, Jean Apperson; step-mothers Joyce Apperson and Kathy Apperson; brothers Joe Apperson (Challa), Tom Apperson (Lisa), and Justin Stipe; nieces Hailey Apperson and Paige Apperson; and nephews Cooper Apperson, Hunter Stipe, and Nick Stipe.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 5th, at 1 PM at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Honorary Pallbearers: Tom Apperson, Justin Stipe, Legend “Mark” Coonfield, Joe Apperson, Cooper Apperson, and Austin Hills.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Special Olympics—an organization close to Paul’s heart, where he proudly earned many gold medals.
