Richard Clifford Halterman

Richard C. “Dick” Halterman passed away on November 30, 2025.

Dick was born in Monticello, Illinois, the son of William and Jeanette (Welch) Halterman, and was raised in central Illinois. Upon moving to Chicago following his graduation from Southern Illinois University, Dick met and married his beloved wife, Theresa Halterman, in 1976. Together, they created countless cherished memories in their nearly 45 years of marriage. They shared a lifelong love of travel, with a particular fondness for taking cruises and visiting Ireland, Theresa's home country.

A senior financial executive and CPA, Dick fondly remembered his early career at Beatrice Foods in Chicago, Illinois, and the professional opportunities that later took Dick and Theresa to Minnesota, Colorado, and Virginia, building a career marked by dedication, integrity, and professionalism. Following their retirement, they spent many happy years living in The Villages, Florida.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa; his brother, William “Bill” Halterman; and his sister, Nancy Halterman. He is lovingly remembered by his friends and family, including many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Known for his quick wit, great sense of humor, quiet strength, and kindness, Dick brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him.
