Robert H. Wheat, 77, of Overland Park passed away on July 27, 2022. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 9 a.m. at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., OP, KS 66210 with service to follow at 10 a.m. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Buck was predeceased by his wife of 40 plus years, Denise Wheat in 2007. He is survived by 2 sons, Robert Wheat, III and Todd (Ruth) Wheat, 3 grandchildren, Vaughn, Henry and Owen, his brother, Larry Wheat and his sister, Jocelyn Bowling.
Buck was a great dad who taught his sons about work ethic and the importance of respecting others. He was born in 1944, his father a World War II pilot who first saw his firstborn son through pictures.
Buck served in the national guard (he never liked camping after that) and was a diehard KC Royals and Chiefs / Cincinnati Reds / KU Jayhawk / University of Cincinnati and Xavier fan – where he completed his master’s degree.
He’ll be missed a lot. Rest in peace.
