Sally Ann James, age 66, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Olathe, KS after a long illness. Sally was born in Kansas City, KS on December 3rd, 1955 and was the second out of four children. She grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1975.
Sally was a dog lover. She never met a dog she didn’t want to take home and adopt. She spent many years volunteering her time for the Safe Harbor Prison Dog program. She was proud of her dogs and would show them off to everyone. She also enjoyed crocheting and would make hats, scarfs, and blankets for friends and family members. Sally loved to talk and share stories or gossip she heard. The family affectionately said that if you ever wanted to spread news, make sure you tell Sally. Most of all, Sally loved her family, and she was proud of them. She would talk about her siblings and their families and what was happening in their lives. She would brag about something new her son was doing on his computer in his spare time, her nephew and his race car wins, or about a test her granddaughter passed or any of their accomplishments. For many years, she watched her granddaughters and would make sure they got on the school bus while their mom went to work. She also taught them how to swim, took them to the lake, showered them with affection and taught them the value of family. She was a huge part of this family and will be missed by all.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Claudie Morrison and Lois (Hunter) Morrison and stepfather, Robert “Bob” Hunter. Sally is survived by her brothers; Carl Morrison (Becky) of Excelsior Springs, MO and Curtis Morrison of Raymore, MO, and a sister, Donna Morrison (Angie) of Preston, MO. She also leaves her son, Gerard Signaigo of Story City, IA, and a daughter, Melinda Schlink (Ryan) of Olathe, KS, and granddaughters; Kailey Schlink and Madison Edwards of Olathe, KS.
We will miss you Sally and rest in peace. We love you.
