Sandra (Sandy) Lynn Geoffrion (nee Whitaker) was born on April 12, 1960 in Decatur, Il to Edward Charles and Barbara Ann (nee Vaughan) Whitaker.

Surviving are husband, Ronald Paul Geoffrion, her children Sarah Geoffrion Beall (husband Elliott), Jacob Paul Geoffrion, and Adam Isaac Geoffrion (wife Rachel), her grandchildren Wesley and Charlotte Geoffrion and her brother, Douglas C. Whitaker and his wife Mary Whitaker of Bloomington, IL.

Sandy was an avid boater and water skier and found her true calling helping others. She was a candystriper in high school helping out at the hospital, went to Methodist Nursing School in Peoria, IL where she became a life long Registered Nurse. She met her husband Ron at Bradley University School of Engineering in Peoria, Il. The attraction was instant and they married a year later on August, 14 1982 in Decatur, Il.

Sandy worked as an RN in the Emergency Room then on to patient care on the hospital floors. Ron's job after college moved them to Dallas, Texas where she continued to provide care to the hospitals. They then had three wonderful children they raised as toddlers until Ron got a job in 1994 in Stilwell, KS where they have lived ever since.

Sandy was known for her outgoing personality, generous spirit, and love of adventure. The family cherished a lifetime of shared adventures and meaningful travels. They spent countless vacations together with relatives, creating lasting memories at amusement parks, canoeing along peaceful rivers, and hiking through the majestic mountains of the American Southwest. They also found joy in small-town traditions, visiting Dodge City, Kansas, for its famous shootout, and Winfield, Kansas, where they attended the beloved three-day Fiddle Festival.

Sandy passed quietly away in her sleep at home on Friday, May 1st 2026.

Sandy will be missed by her family, friends and anyone who she has crossed paths with on her countless adventures.

Her memorial will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210 on Saturday May 9th at 10:00am.

A reception will be held 11:00am - 1:00pm at the Overland Park Marriott. 10800 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.
