Sharon Helming

August 26, 1942 — June 15, 2007

Sharon Helming
Lenexa, KS

Sharon was born on August 26, 1942 in Berkeley, CA. After a courageous 17-year battle with cancer, Sharon left to be with the Lord on June 15, 2007 at the age of 64.

Sharon had a warm, generous heart and was devoted to her children, grandchildren, horses, dogs, and many more of God?s creatures. Her passion for the environment, natural healing path and her spiritual devotion were an inspiration to us. She received her MSW from KU and found her life?s calling in social work. She practiced at Heart of America Family Services, Jewish Family and Children?s Services, and ultimately went into private practice. She touched many lives with her bright spirit and we are forever grateful for her time with us!

Sharon is survived by her children Troy (Alysia) Helming of Olathe, KS, Tamara (Jeff) Cutler of East Lansing, MI, grandchildren Adair and Gage, sister Judith Millard (Berkeley, CA), half-siblings Stacey Ward (Palm Springs, CA), Janel Wire Pratt (Australia), and Edward Wire (Green Bay, WI), and best friends Ani Beeson (El Cerrito, CA) and Teresa Islas (Lenexa, KS), and their families, including children Kai (Laura) Waldo, Eduardo Islas, Laura Uriarte and Claudia Herrera and grandchildren Sebastian, Sabrina, Stella and Gabriella, as well as many other friends and family members.

Memorial donations may be made in Sharon?s name to The National Wildlife Federation (www.nwf.org) or The Audubon Society (www.audubon.org).

Memorial services will be held in late July ? please contact D.W. Newcomer?s at 913-451-1860 for information on date and time.
