Overland Park

Skylar Linn Foster, age 18 of Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday March 6, 2022. Skylar was born April 8, 2003 to Natasha (Conrey) Bockelman and Grant Foster.

Services will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens (11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, KS 66210). Visitation will be Friday March 18th from 6-8pm. and from 9-10 am on Saturday March 19th. Services will begin at 10am.

Skylar graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 2021. She was very involved in the Overland Park Explorers Program, choir, and president of the S.A.F.E. club. Skylar made friends with every teacher, administrator and police officer from kindergarten to her senior year in high school.

Her love for her sisters Savannah and Iris and her brother Gage was beyond comparison. They were her best friends and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Skylar adored her great grandma Lindy and had a bond that could never be broken. They spent countless hours together reading, swimming, going to the library and the movies. Skylar’s best friend, Izzy, was her rock. They had numerous adventures and a friendship full of laughter.

Skylar had an incredible passion for music and the most beautiful voice. There was never a moment you wouldn’t walk around the house hearing her sing. Every car ride to the lake with her mom had to include the band, The Dirty Heads, which she insisted we play on repeat. She loved to join her dad at the microphone any chance they could get, including the opportunity to perform on stage with him.

There was never a road trip that Skylar wasn’t up for or an animal she wouldn’t save off the side of the road. Skylar was the most caring and compassionate daughter anyone could have asked for. Her smile radiated through everyone when she walked into a room. Her kindness touched everyone in so many ways and was loved more than she could ever understand.

Skylar’s family tree had enormous branches that were full of love and laughter. Skylar is survived by her parents and siblings. Tasha and Joel Bockelman, Savannah, and Gage. Grant Foster and Cassi (Lovell) and Iris. Her grandparents Suzy and Dan Wellinghoff, Skip Conrey, Mel and Rebecca Bockelman, Larry and Brenda Fuqua, Peggy Foster and Jerry Peacher, and Don Lovell. Her Aunts Sarah, Carmen, Madison, Katy, Amy, Harmony and her Uncle Luke. Her cousins Rachel, Natalie, Indigo, Zu, Phoenix, Jaden, Elle, Isaias, Millie, Leo, Magnolia, Bristol, and Weston. Skylar will be missed more than words can ever capture. We love you to the moon and back.
