Mr. Steven Mcavoy
August 3, 1961 — March 14, 2007
On March 14th, 2007 Steven was granted God?s grace and freedom. Steven was the dearest son of Bill and Donna; the beloved brother of Billy, Greg, Kristi and Mark (brother-in-law); the cherished uncle of Scotty, Madison, and Nicolas; and the endeared grandson of Lucille Sportsman. Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Luther Sportsman and paternal grandparents, John and Edith McAvoy.
Steven?s pursuits were those of the spirit as manifested in God, in his music, percussion, teaching children how to play the drums, the love of his dogs and life?s ways. He is a great loss, and will be celebrated on this anniversary for all years to come.
A celebration of Steven?s life will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17th at
D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue.
Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. While at the gathering of family and friends 10:00 ? 11:30 a.m. Saturday preceding the service, please take a moment to visit the Enduring Memories booth to create a personal remembrance for the family that they will cherish for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Steven?s name be made to the Overland Park Regional Medical Center Trauma Center, 10500 Quivira, Overland Park, Kansas 66215.
