Susan A Kost

On March 26th, we said goodbye to Susan Billett Anderson Kost, the heart of our family. She was born on November 17th, 1940, to Mae Elizabeth Anderson and Dr. Raymond Burk Anderson. She attended the Barstow School for Girls in 1958 and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1962 as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. As a freshman at KU, Susan met the love of her life and soulmate, John Arthur Kost. They married on January 27th, 1962, and began their journey. For 46 years, their life was full of everyday moments that added up to something truly extraordinary. Susan worked alongside her father in his pediatrics practice where she honed her deep appreciation for caring for others. She took this commitment of caring into motherhood as she raised John David and Andrew William with strength, humor and a quiet unwavering support. Becoming a grandmother and great grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She loved her role as SuSu/Grandma Suszh to Kelsey, Will, Grace, Jack and Collins. She was a faithful and active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, PEO and KKG alumnae association finding great meaning in both her faith and uplifting women through education and fellowship. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind, sons John (Jill), Andrew (Sheila) Grandchildren Kelsey, Will, Grace and Jack, Great granddaughter Collins, Brother Bill (Sue), Sister Sally (Mark) and many extended family members and friends. Her presence continues to be felt in the lives she shaped and the love that continues through them all. Services will be held in honor of Susan at 11:00 on Wednesday April 8th at Johnson County Memorial Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Ave OPKS 66210
