Susan "Suzy" Cordell Jenkins

Susan Cordell Jenkins of Lenexa Ks, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, March 22nd 2026 at Kansas City Hospice House.

Suzy was born on June 8th 1958 to parents Robert Cordell and Joan Cordell (MacDonell), in Sioux City Iowa. The fifth of seven children, her family soon moved and she enjoyed growing up in Memphis Tn. Suzy treasured the deep, lifelong friendships she made there in her early years.

Suzy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a loyal friend. A generous person who wanted everyone to be comfortable. She did everything to create and keep a loving home for her family. She enjoyed reading, music, walking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her pets. Suzy was sweet, kind, quick witted, funny, and compassionate. She was her family’s biggest fan, and cheered and celebrated any endeavors they pursued. She found great joy in watching her family grow and seeing good things for those she loved.

Suzy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jeff Jenkins, children Robert Jackson, and Travis Jackson and his wife Lindsay, granddaughters Ashlee, Brittany, and Maiden, grandson Saylor, sisters Jennifer Walls, Jayme Armstrong, brothers Jerry Cordell, Robert Cordell, Mike Cordell, former spouse Leonard Jackson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Suzy was preceded in death by her father Robert Cordell, mother Joan Cordell, and her sister, Leslie Ray of McCall Idaho.

The family would also like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care team at Kansas City Hospice House. The compassion and support they showed to our family throughout our time there was wonderful.
