Mr. Terry Forester

d. June 14, 2014

Our adored father, Terry Forester, passed away suddenly on June 14, 2014.  He was raised on a small farm in southern Missouri where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Dillbeck.  After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in North Africa as a radio technician during the Korean conflict.  Eventually, he and his young family settled in Kansas City where he found his niche working in research and development for an upstart avionics company called King Radio.  While there, he earned his pilots license and logged many hours piloting many different types of aircraft.  He loved to fly - a passion he continued to enjoy into retirement, building and flying remote controlled airplanes. Eager for new challenges, he spent a number of years as a manufacturing engineer and later, started his own small business.  He was a creative and inquisitive man who enjoyed learning.  His talents and life-long accomplishments were many.

Our father was a loving and caring husband of sixty-one years to our late mother, Rosemary, and a devoted father to his three children. He leaves behind two sons Duane and Scot, daughter and son-in-law Becky and Jerry Watts, seven grandchildren, six great grand children, five great, great grand children, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Betty Forester, and a large extended family. He was blessed with the ability to make friends easily and had many life-long friends. After our mother’s passing he made a special friend, Bettie Bywater, with whom he continued to share new adventures. His easy smile and warm ways will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but most deeply by us.  We love you Dad, and will always keep you close to our heart.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. With visitation beginning at 2 pm.
