Thomas Edward Dolan

Thomas Edward Dolan, 72, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Tom was born on July 7, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, to John Robert Dolan and Elizabeth Sanders Dolan. He was the second youngest of eight siblings and was affectionately known as “Tommy” to his family. He graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1979, stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. During his service, he worked as a Cobra helicopter crew chief and held the rank of Specialist 4 (E-4).

Following his military service, Tom built a long and dedicated career as a security technician with ADT, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.

Tom had a deep love for sports and was a loyal fan of the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Lakers, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas Jayhawks. He was a simple man who found joy in life’s everyday moments, working on projects around the house, taking his wife out to breakfast at The Big Biscuit, cheering on his favorite teams, and coaching his daughters in basketball and softball.

He will be remembered for his strong will, tender heart, and unmistakable goofiness that brought laughter to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted father and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; John and Elizabeth; and his sister, Mary.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his daughters, Vickie (Connor), Teresa; his niece, Nicole; and his siblings, Joe, Mike, Sharon, Margaret, Maurine, and Patty.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish, 18335 W 168th Terrace, Olathe, KS 66062.
