Thomas M. Moore September 24, 1947 – April 26, 2026 Thomas (“Tom”) M. Moore, our father, grandad, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at his home on April 26, 2026.

Born on September 24, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo, to Jack and Marion Moore, Tom grew up alongside his sister, Susan, and brothers, Jack and Richard.

Tom was a lifelong hard worker who dedicated himself to the practice of law. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the UMKC School of Law. In 1971, he became a member of the American Bar Association. Over the course of his distinguished career, he built a respected and successful legal practice, representing his clients with diligence and integrity. He continued working tirelessly until the age of 77. Tom was honored by KC Magazine as one of the Top Attorneys in Missouri & Kansas, and earned the highest possible rating in both legal ability & ethical standards.

Beyond his career, Tom was an avid reader who greatly enjoyed golfing, watching soccer, and cheering on his favorite teams - Sporting KC, KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hiking and visiting the mountains of Vail. He also cherished the trips to Las Vegas with his sons and son-in-laws.

Above all, Tom found his greatest joy in his family. He is survived by his children, Kristin Bechard (husband Chad), Ryan Moore (wife Karen), Jenny Zygmunt, and Kevin Moore (wife Eunice), and his eleven grandchildren Emily, Molly, Annie, Savannah, James, Emmeline, Colin, Blake, Trevor, Olivia, and Elliott, who lovingly called him “Grandad.” He treasured family gatherings, especially birthdays and holidays, and was known for making sure there were always plenty of M&Ms and sweets for the kids.

In addition to being survived by his children and grandchildren, Tom leaves many nieces and nephews and his sister Susan Crain.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
