Verna Lee “Tab” Corcoran, born on August 30, 1936, in New Boston, Illinois, to Claude James and Alfreda Louise Tapscott, lived a life marked by strength, independence, and quiet determination.
Tab served proudly in the United States Air Force from April 1955 to July 1956, where she trained as a Radiology Technician.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond “Cork” Corcoran, with whom she worked tirelessly to provide for their family.
Tab's legacy continues through her children: Michael James Corcoran and his wife Shasta, Kelly Corcoran, and Laura Ruth (Corcoran) Joyner and her husband Nelson. She was a proud grandmother to Jack Corcoran, Cody Corcoran, Christina Corcoran, Amber Welch, Payton Welch, and Danielle Welch, and cherished her role as a great-grandmother to eight.
Known for her steady presence, quiet resilience, and deep love for her family, Tab leaves behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories for all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
