Mr. Wendell Briscoe

Wendell David Briscoe, 72, Raymore, Mo., passed away Friday, June 13, 2008, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home from Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Visitation will be held the hour prior to services. Burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Wendell was born May 29, 1936, in Lincoln, Kan. He was married to his wife, Arlene for 49 years. He was employed for nearly 30 years with Griffin Pipe in sales. Wendell was also a former president of Kiwanis Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He enjoyed being a "Big Brother" with the Big Brother/Big Sister program. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvie and Betty Briscoe; and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Arlene; three sons, David, Daniel, and John; one daughter, Tamara Ansaldo and husband Paul; two sisters Wilma Major and JoAnn Slaughter; three brothers, Harold Briscoe, Dennis Briscoe, and Steven Briscoe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
