William Chadd

William Junior Chadd, 80, of Overland Park, Kansas died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Forum of Overland Park. Bill was born May 25, 1937 in Greencastle, Indiana to William and Edna (Roach) Chadd. He served in the US Air Force, entering active duty on August 9, 1955 and being honorably discharged November 28, 1962. He married Rita Ann Jones on November 30, 1958 in Plainfield, Indiana, who preceded him in death on June 25, 2011. Bill is survived by his sister Barbara Miller (and husband Sterling), his children, Mark Chadd (and wife Terri) of Prairie Village, KS, and Lisa Petree (and husband Jon) of Overland Park, KS. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren Kanen Coyan (and wife CiCi), Bryce Coyan, Stephanie Chadd, Kirstin Chadd, Kelsey Chadd, and his great-granddaughter Ivy Coyan, whom he called Little Pumpkin.  He was preceded in death by his parents and twin grandsons Andrew and Zachary Chadd.  His most favorite pastime was watching college basketball and especially loved watching both Indiana and Kansas University basketball games.  His fondest memories were of his Fillmore High School basketball team players and coaches of whom he spoke of often. Bill enjoyed camping/boating/fishing with his family and found pleasure later in life collecting and selling Fenton Art Glass with his wife, Rita. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to some very wonderful caregivers at the Forum of Overland Park, KS for all their care and support. A memorial service at the Church of the Resurrection will be held on August 2nd with visitation at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00.  Private inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City.
