Jeri Vick

Jeri M. Vick, 80, of Overland Park, KS, passed away, at home, on September 24, 2021, after 22 years of battling cancer.  Jeri was born in Pittsburg, PA on July 4, 1941, to Glenwood and Alice Elizabeth Young.  She had one older sister who died as an infant. Jeri married Kent Alan Vick 58 years ago on December 22, 1962.  Their son, Mark Alan, was born in 1974 and made their family complete.  Jeri received her college education at William Woods (AA), UMKC (BA) and Emporia State University (MA).   She was a beloved Certified Elementary Librarian in Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools for 34 years, and spent many of the last years of her career at Welborn Elementary School.  Jeri is survived by her husband, Kent Vick of the home, and her son, Mark Vick, presently of the home.  Family and friends loved Jeri’s cheerful, positive attitude and her wonderful sense of humor.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7th at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas where the family will receive friends from 5-7m on Wednesday, Oct. 6th.  Entombment will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Welborn Elementary Activity Fund, 5200 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS  66104.
