Marilyn Bynum

Marilyn S. Bynum, age 83, passed away peacefully Monday, July 12, 2021 in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born and raised in Grand Junction, CO to Ruth (Jerome) and Thomas J. Clark. Marilyn was quite an accomplished pianist and flautist. She attended Colorado College and the University of Colorado (Boulder), where she majored in Education. She had a love for reading, crossword puzzles and bridge. She even won her last bridge game on Sunday! She loved all the dogs in her life as well as an occasional cat and a couple of horses.
She married the love of her life, Bruce Bynum, and lived throughout the years in Greeley, CO, Milwaukee, WI, Birmingham,MI , Lake Bluff, IL, St. Louis, MO, Louisville, KY and Ft. Meyers, FL. Wherever they went, she never met a stranger and made wonderful friends and memories along the way.
Marilyn was a 50+ year member of PEO where she treasured her many lifelong friends from this special sisterhood.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Gretchen (Bynum) and Bill Longmire of Overland Park, KS and Katy (Bynum) and Tim Fenbert of Atlanta, GA plus four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Colin and Sam Longmire and Mitch and Abby Fenbert .
Marilyn will be remembered as outgoing, for the love of her friends in her various social groups, always dressing impeccably, wearing “large” sunglasses and for her words of advice for her daughters: "Always wear lipstick" and "Never let your arms go". Mom, we’re wearing lipstick today!
