Obituary

Mary Agnes (Miller) Chamberlin was born in Gardner, Kansas on November 1, 1920 to Anna (McIntire) and Ellis Miller.   The family moved to Olathe, Kansas when Mary was 4.  She attended school there and when she graduated high school, she began working for a doctor in Olathe as receptionist and nursing assistant.  She met Floyd L. (Phil) Chamberlin who was stationed at the Olathe Naval Base in 1941 and they married on June 5, 1943.  Patricia Sue was born in July of 1944 and Gregory Ellis was born July of 1949.  She was an avid reader of mysteries and enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing and playing games with family and friends.  She was always involved in church and school activities and from the first breath they took her children were taught her “family rules”

Never lose faith.  God and family are watching over you.
Never lost your sense of humor.  It will help you survive.
Always keep your cool. That, too, will help you survive.
Always look for the good in even the worst situation. You might have to look hard for it, but it’s there.
Always be there for family and friends to celebrate the good times and to help each other through the not-so-good times.
Always remember that the best things in your life are not things.

She had been a resident at the Residential Living Center in Garnett, KS for the past six years and will be remembered for her spirited personality and her zest for life.  She passed peacefully from this life on April 15, 2021 at the age of 100.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, F.L.
