Obituary

Nancy Louise (Warrell) Parrett, 83, formally Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully August 28, 2020 in Fort Worth, TX. Nancy was born January 1, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to parents Alfred Carl Warrell and Sarah Marie (Garret) Warrell.  Nancy married Richard Elton Parrett June 27, 1953, and they had two sons.  Nancy retired from Social Security Administration in 1990 after approximately 30 years and spent some of her retirement traveling the states with her husband and friends. Despite living with MS for several decades she was bigger than life, and we will miss her infectious laugh and smile. She was affectionately known by her family and friends as Goatee because of her stubborn will and attitude. She loved her husband dearly, family and playing cards. Nancy is survived by her husband of 67 years Richard Elton Parrett (Fort Worth, TX), sons Richard Lee Parrett (Butler, MO), David (Tammy) Parrett (Fort Worth, TX), brothers Larry Brook, John Brook and sister Sandra Nikos Burton.  Seven grandkids, Andy (Merry) Parrett, Richard (Gala) Parrett, David (Heather) Parrett, Amy (Eric) Smith, Daniel (Theresa) Parrett, Stacy Parrett, Shelly Parrett. Five Great Grandkids Jacob Loeffler, Grace Parrett, Cruz Parrett, Layne Parrett, and Emilee Parrett and four great step grandkids Connor and Kollyn, Sydney and Garrett. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Sarah Marie (Garret) Nikos (Nick), Alfred Carl Warrell (Josephine), sister Karolyn Huntley and her husband Gene Huntley, brother Alfred “Carl” Warrell JR, and sister Janet Cappuccio.  Graveside service will be September 19th at 10am at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS.
