Parker John Koerner

May 21, 2002 ~ November 16, 2021 (age 19)

With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Parker John Koerner on November 16, 2021 in Overland Park, Kansas.  He was born May 21, 2002 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Candice Johnene (nee Wright) and Bryan Matthew Koerner.  Growing up in Overland Park, Parker attended Blue Valley schools and graduated from Blue Valley West High School in May 2020.

Parker is survived by his mother and step-father, Candice and Shane White; father, Bryan Koerner; and siblings, Brittany (Koerner) and husband, Ilya Sheldon, and their children, Lilyan, William, and Serenity; Melody Koerner; Lindsey White; and Connor White.  Also, Lauryn and Dylan White.

Other survivors include maternal grandparents, John and Cinda Wright of Oklahoma City and Thomas and Linda White of Shawnee; Uncle Chadley (Amanda) Wright and son, Mason; Uncle Cameron (Rachel) Wright and their children Caitlyn, Caydenn, Camille, and soon-to-be born Corbynn of Oklahoma City.  Parker was predeceased by great-grandparents, Mildred and Earl Rivers and Mildred and John Wright, all of Oklahoma City.

Parker was an avid sports enthusiast and adopted Kansas University as his team.

Alongside his mom, he was also an Oklahoma University fan, but only when they weren’t playing Kansas!  Parker loved animals, penguins, Popeye’s chicken sandwiches, and Nothing Bundt cakes on special occasions.

You were an “old soul” in a young body.  Starting at a very early age, you constantly prayed for others.  Around the age of six, an ambulance passed by and you began praying for the person needing help.  This is just one example of your beautiful inner spirit of concern and caring for others.

We reminisce about Parker’s ever-present smile and the warmth behind it.  He cared about people in the purest way.  He loved them for who they were and because he wished the best for them without asking anything in return.  Parker had so much goodness and the capacity to bring happiness to others.

You were a loving, kind, and positive person.  We have been blessed by your sweetness and thoughtful nature.  You loved your family unconditionally and knew you were cherished by them as well.  The family takes comfort that Parker awoke to something more glorious than anything on this earth.

Parker, you set an example for all who came in contact with you that the small things in life are the ones that mean the most.  You helped us all and we cherish the moments spent with you making memories to last us a lifetime.  Your gentle voice will be in our hearts forever.

Services have been entrusted to the Johnson County Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Monday, November 29, from 7-9 p.m. and funeral scheduled for Tuesday, November 30, at 2 p.m.
