He was born in San Francisco to Robert Lee Love, Jr. & Louise Love and in his younger years moved with his family all over the Midwest. Bob graduated from KU in 1957 with a BS in Engineering and later from Stevens Institute of Technology with an MS. Bob spent most of his working years in New Jersey working for Exxon Research & Engineering (now EXXONMOBIL). His work assignments brought him to Germany, where he met his wife of 53+ years, Birgit. After retiring from EXXON, Bob moved his family to Overland Park, KS. He then worked several years for the EPA in Kansas City as part of AARP Foundation Back-to-Work 50+ program.
