Ulla Erickson

Ulla B. Erickson, 96, of Topeka, Kansas (and formerly Mission, Kansas) passed away March 21, 2020 at Lexington Park Assisted Living.  A graveside service for immediate family will be held March 23, 2020 at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date after the current coronavirus crisis passes.

Ulla was born July 24, 1923 to Edith and Russell Stoker in Miami County, Kansas.  She was married to William E. Erickson for 62 years until his passing in 2007.  She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheila Ramseier (son-in-law, the late Merle Ramseier) of Topeka and her son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Julie Erickson of Olathe.  Ulla was blessed with three grandsons:  Eric Ramseier (wife, Sarah and great-grandson, Charlie) of Portsmouth, Virginia, Michael Ramseier (wife, Aubrie and great-grandson, James) of Topeka, and Richard Erickson (wife, Rebekah) of Olathe.   Ulla’s sister, Laura Gardner, lives in Reno, Nevada.  Her sister, Lila O’Daniel, preceded her in death.

Ulla enjoyed quilting and her family especially appreciates the beautiful quilts she made for them through the years.  She was known as the “puzzle lady” at Lexington Park Independent Living where she lived for several years, spending many enjoyable hours filling out crossword puzzles and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

The family suggests that anyone wanting to honor Ulla’s memory make a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
